” Do not go where the path may lead,
go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson

My name is Christine Cleere, also known as Vixx (Vixxen). In my private life I work as priest, teacher and celebrant, sharing gently and quietly with those who wish to listen, all that I have come to understand. For the most part I work alone, with the spirits of the land that I know and love, and with my gods, ancestors and spirit guides. I have run courses and a Grove for a number of years and have been privileged to work with some wonderful people, folk who have taught me much, and who continue to teach me. I am Lead Priest for the Gorsedd of Bard of Cor Gawr (Stonehenge).

My ancestors are of the island of Britain – from close to White Horse Hill and the ancient Ridgeway in present day Oxfordshire but formerly part of Berkshire – and of Ireland. So it is that I feel a deep sense of connection with both of these beautiful sacred ancient islands, the threads of connection running through me from the past, through the now, and onwards to the future.

In as much as anyone today is, then some would describe me as a Druid – though perhaps it would be more accurate to describe myself as a Pagan who follows a path honouring the Gods of these sacred islands. As well as being Lead Priest for the Gorsedd of Cor Gawr, I am a member of The Order of the Yew, , an Ovate of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids and take an active role in various other groups and groves.

As a celebrant and priest who works within her Grove and with others in sacred space, I believe in the importance of ritual in integrating and honouring moments in our lives. I offer my services to those who would wish to affirm such times on their journey. Throughout the passage of our lives I can help and advise in preparing and holding ritual which suits each individual. From birth through to death, all important events and changes can be celebrated and honoured.

In my busy life I somehow find time to give energy (and occasionally some money!) to Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and The Woodland Trust. I also an active campaigner for Oxfam.

For many years I lived in north Oxfordshire, where the limestone that becomes the Cotswolds begins to slide from beneath the rich fertile clays of rolling hills and ancient woods and meadows, where gentle trickling streams flow through the landscape as our blood flows through our veins. Nearby the limestone rises into high ridges overlooking deeper valleys, where our ancestors made their settlements and buried their dead thousands of years ago. This landscape is my spiritual home, it calls to me, deeply, and longingly.

Presently I live in north Wiltshire.
