Ogham and the self

It has become something of a tradition that each evening I draw an Ogham stave from my crane bag and study it to understand what the day to come offers me, and what skills I may be called upon to use. And each Sunday I pull a card from The Green man Oracle and from the Druid Animal Oracle as well, to see what the energies are likely to be over the coming week. These are shared with a dear and intimate friend each evening – usually by text message! – before we go to bed.
This process has led to insights that simply ‘reading the book’ can never bring and often, when I look back at the staves or cards I have drawn I am amazed by how pertinent they are, even though at the time I may struggle to understand their message. Yesterday evening I drew the following:
Daily stave: Apple
Weekly Tree: Aspen
Weekly Animal: Fire Dragon
